rami- Oh my god that picture is amazing looking, I love the whoosh haaha..*no offense agaisnt yours LB*. And is that an updated model of drew, because he's looking very very good if it is.

TGCH Core Team-

Keep it up guys, I like the progress I see when I visit here, looks like things are becoming more organized and things keep progressing. I forsee a lot of success with this game.

Smash Fans- Has anyone shown LB wavedashing? If you could implement that into the game you could shut up a lot of people on the subject plus make the game go beyond smash bros.

Thanks for the comments tha_rami, good to know you like the TGC one and Baker Street. Speaking of Baker Street....here it is (attached). Im really tired so I'll talk more about it tomorrow. I've included the .obj, .mtl, .3ds, and textures.

I converted the .3ds version of BakerStreet v2 to an .x model. It is the best version I have seen as far as importing goes. The player kept getting stuck to the model [not that he couldn't get out, it was like he was stuck to the platform itself] and the background is completely brown behind everything. It mixes in with the platforms and it is hard to tell what is the platform and what is the back wall. It looks like the gaps that the player needs to go though (at least in some cases) are so small that the collision checking in the game is picking up the sidewalls and I can't get through it. I would suggest making larger gaps.

You would get a shaking, impactlike effect which should last about... 0.5 - 1 second.
"

I'm sure that would make for a nice effect, but how will that look like SSB? What size of planes (plains) are you thinking? Based upon the pic you put up, they look very large.

Okay guys im here
LBFN- Answer to bold quetion i say use tgc game characters and other stuff not related to tgc heroes. DUDES it may be called tgc heroes but that dont mean u cant have fun with it and include sweet other models and things not related to tgc products or games. I personally want a sweet crazy cool end boss for the game that is totally original and made from all the thoughts of the core team. Also petrsonally lbfn sound i just wanted it added for i reason to test the game out with sfx and make sure when someone does a special attack and makles sfx it sounds good and like have trhe music slightly fade out so u vcan hear ie a bam or what not. Also media for music posted around pages 9-15 somewhere in there zombie posted a folder full of music.

Winner my a longshot!

Personally, I feel we should keep it TGC-related or rename it to something else. Using TGC characters is good promotionwise and makes it more fun as you can relate to the characters. I agree that we need a custom boss, definitely, but besides, I think using only TGC-related things would be most fun and practical.

Beast, could you reply to the team email?

Thanks.

Beast E.

If you have questions about the new forum you could email tha_rami direct.

Regarding the v 0.35 .dba file. Please understand it is a long ways from being released and you have a pre-release version. You can run it in place of the V 0.30 that you have. When you run it, it will error on the lines that have new textures and models that have been added to v 0.35. You could rem them out one at a time until you have a list of them all. I did not have the time to go through it and make a list of the new textures/models that are needed. If you wouldn't mind emailing me with a list of the media you need I would be glad to send the files to you (with the exception of the Starwraith Showdown models). It's funny, but I have been busy getting organized [go figure].

Okay, thanks LB for the report. I'll try to make the gaps larger and I'll post the file fairly soon. In terms of getting stuck I think I can still play around with some geometry issues.

Beast E.,

I had to try twice myself. It's only the ones that are colored in that you list. It is very confusing. Keep trying, you'll get it.

TGCH Team:

The answer to the question, "
Quote: "Does it matter to you if we use only TGC characters in our game?"
is YES, it does matter. We will include only TGC characters in the game. kyp has graciously offered to include any characters that we are currently using in the game into a game he is making so that we won't have to eliminate any characters.

It was intended originally to include models of Lee Bamber and some of the mods in the forum. It would make sense to me to include these in the game also. Think about it, Lee Bamber getting body slammed by Nutt. . . now that would be funny! What does the core team think about this?

@Team
Here's the TGC themed level. Tell me how it works. I still have a bit of tweaking to do with baker street btw.

Nice level! I converted it to .x format and put it in the game. The models seem to work with it okay. A pic is attached. The pyramids did not make the transition very well. You can see it in the pic. It should be fairly easy to code this one. What is the lock for?

[ ** EDIT ** Oh yeah, the platforms that the player will be jumping up through need to be hollowed out, to where the platform is thick enough to walk on, but as the player jumps up through it, he's not stopped by the collision. This only applies to the platforms that a player will be jumping up through. ]

[ ** POST EDIT ** Do you have a name for this world? I can see it being our second 'official' world in the game and I expect would be included in v 0.35's release. The white platforms should be given a color or texture (I would suggest using some of the textures that Shadow has posted - I think kyp is using some of them for Swamp world). The white platforms tend to blend in with the background. I scaled the model up quite a bit. If you want to, you can actually read the forum data. Don't forget that the pyramids did not transition correctly. Also, I need a 100 X 100 pic (.png preferred) to select it.]

[ ** POST POST EDIT ** Could you also move the pyramids back, so that they are not in the path of the players? I could code it so that the player and AI walk/fight over them, but it would be a lot easier if they were placed behind where the players will be moving through. They would still be there for the effect.]

@LB

Thanks for the comments. Now to address all concerns.
1) Theoretically, sketchup uses only hollow object so not really sure what to do...
2)Don't really have a name yet, any suggestions from anyone would be great.
3)I'll post a .png shortly.
4)To bad the pyramids didn't work out all that well. I can still try to play around with it.
5)White platforms? :S I thought I had textured them all.. They were supposed to be blue. Aw well, some tweaking will be done there.
6)No problem, I can move the pyramids backwards.

Just thinkg out loud. What if we did the pyramids in a program that specifically exports to .x format so that they looked really well.

Will post with an update soon,

The core team has decided to lock down this thread since the project moved into "Work In Progress"-state. A new topic has been opened in the appropriate board.

Link to the new thread:

Interested people can join up at our new forums. We're hoping that members that have been connected to the project will join up at the new forums. Names as Zombie20, Shadow, Xlaydos and Deathead
(but also others, ofcourse!) are encouraged to join up at http://tgcheroes.yourbb.nl/.

We are hereby requesting a mod to lock this thread and interested people to not reply to this topic, but to the new WIP topic.
