well i just attempted a level design in milkshape and i need some serious practice. But i'll show you where i'm at, i'm working with it though.

This looks pretty interesting. I'm curious, but if I modeled a few tgc members in the next couple months could they be rigged, animated and used? I'm pretty good at cartoon models (or so I think), and was already planning to model my own avatar for other purposes. If you don't want them or would like to see one before using any, that's fine, as I plan to make my own as it is.

I recommend getting zzz and/or soul hunter if you can. I'd say Drew C & Dumbo and Cool as well, but you seem on top of that already.

Edit: Get the atual D&C models from drew if you can, as well as sh if you want him.

Hes good at it too. And I'm sorry, but we are going to use them, even if we will change them, but at least wait for him to show us what hes done.

hey hey guys, i already am helping. Data and i are doing levels. I'm perfectly fine with what i'm doing.

No need to fight, i also hope i'm not butting in.

@xeno-why not let bizar do modelling, couldn't we use all the help we can get. There are lots of different people with lots of different skills, it would be wrong of us to not let a person who wants to help at least put in their two cents. I don't mean to be offensive, but we cannot just butt people out of a project without first consulting the team.

We all joined this as a community project, so i say we should let the people who want to join, join. What could be so bad about having more people wanting to help, do you know how many people it takes to build a great game? I'm sure you know it takes a lot. We cannot block those who could assist.

Cian does not have his sketches up and i understand people have lives to attend to, but whats so bad about letting someone else put in creative input. And i'm sure we could find something for dared to do. We can all do this together.

Glad that I can help. But remember when I say next few months I mean it, because at the present I'm in the thick of finishing dream, writing a short story, drawing a graphic novel, and working on school work, and there wont be much freed up in my schedule for at least two weeks. So I guess in around two weeks I can start some models for this though.

And if you want to use the model I make of myself, it will be from my design, though I'm happy to go off cian's concept art for others.

Edit: I missed the fifth page, but... So you know, I am a comic artist.
I have no qualms about using Cian's work like I said, unless I am asked to draw concepts for more than my own model, then I will be happy to do so.

Edit2: And if someone does decide they want sketches, I can do those far faster than I can model, and thus much sooner... Like within a day of knowing what exactly is wanted of me, if that. Comes from drawing comics all the time. I have some examples of my work ready as soon as anyone asks as well.

Not to undermine Cian, but because there seems to be mixed feelings about using only his sketches...

Bizar, you can model. Anyone can model. I'm just saying I dont want anyone to do any modelling until Cian is done his sketches. I dont want his work to be not used.

He's had a busy week because of school, and I'm looking forward to the sketches.

Alright cool, keepin' it organised

Now, we should start working on a list of characters. Cian, we'll need your input here but what I was thinking:

We should try to have mainly characters of games that have already been created. ie. dumbo/cool, soul hunter, blockman, ect. I know it would be fun to put ourselves as playable characters in the game but essentially super smash (and any clone of it) should feature characters from actual games. That being said we could (and definitely should) throw things in by way of items, trophies, weapons, special attacks ect. that have to do with the creators, mods, avatars, ect.

So lets get a list together of iconic dbp games that we should try to get permission to use. I reckon we should start at say... eight-ten playable characters with unlockables as well. Let's hear some suggestions

What makes super smash is the mix of famous characters from various games, and the familiar moves. Its also the heroic music, the nice effects and sounds, and the levels that you play on.

THe mod quad are most common on the forumns. Also, we can use the chacretrs that Cian sketches. Data, if you have not read yet, we are using characters from the forumns. Thats why its called 'TGC Heores'.

Okay, I think it's really time for me to step in as team leader. Xeno, you've been going a bit crazy and getting ahead of yourself, ect. no offense though. Cian has not been heard from for a long time and we cannot rely solely on him. Zombie, I know you and I are on the same page talking on aim and stuff so keep up the good work.

So, enough talk as Ruccus said, I'm going to do some sketches of possible characters and be sending emails to some people asking for permission should we choose to use their character in our game.

Xeno, keep up the good work on the programming and keep me updated okay? If you need any test models I'll hook you up. I'm going to also create a game design document that will change over time but at least we will have something. Kk, I'll get to work now...
