Maybe your rate of fire is set too high (which means the enemies don't shoot very often). Put it at 5 and see what happens.

Have you shot them and they don't respond?

Can't believe you all overlooked this one...... if you set the rate of fire to 0 the npc will not shoot anymore. Set it to 50-120 and see what happens then.
If that doesn't work, make a screenshot of the npc settings, so we can figure out what you've done wrong.

Yeah, sure did miss that one.

A lot of the time people make changes from the default, and then don't tell you (or don't know what they did) befor asking why something doesn't work.

If you had deleted the enemy and then placed another one in the editor, the defaults would have been returned to it.

I believe (and I may be wrong) that in the EA version the lower the rate of fire value the faster they enemy shot you but it was changed in version 1(unfortunately the mouse over tip was not changed to reflect this).

'Dawn of the Fallen Angel' coming soon(ish)...

ok ive worked out who all this happened.

when i first got FPSC (a week ago) i was using V1. I worked out that 0 was rapid fire and so set it as that .

saved it. Then a few days l8r i came back on and upgraded to 1.03 which i think switched it round to the higher the number the faster they shoot. But it didnt change the mouse over message. I then tested it and it didn't work(cos 0 now meant no fire) ty for all your help guys i got i figuered out now.

I've just been working on a game and noticed that the rate of fire doesn't seem to do anything at all anymore.

You may have come accross a bug in v1.03

Benjamin A,

After your "Can't believe you all overlooked this one" post above, I opened FPSC and put myself and an entity on the map. I set his rate of fire to "0" and tested. He would not shoot at all. Then I changed it to "100". As soon as he could see me, he began to fire. Hence my response to that post.

It does make a difference, perhaps not in every case or situation, but it certainly did in this case. Maybe it's a combination of settings including rate of fire, I don't know.

Best.
