i still have db pro trial and am thinking f buying it. But before this, i have noticed that DB games work smoothly and DBPRO games are like they are lagged. I can see the screen refreshing from my eyes. The game is so slow. I have celeron 400 processor and savage graphic card. Is it because DBPRO uses laest 3d technology that needs fast processors like p3 and geforce 2 graphic card or later for the game to run smoothly? If this is so, then no probs. I am gonna buy a new pc anyways. Please help!

OK misleading handle then In short the Savage never was a good card, and now it is also an old card. Worse still is that processor. I still don't understand why Intel even considered releasing a processor without an internal cache, times have moved on since the Spectrum...

The minimum requirements for DBPro if I remember correctly is a PII processor. The Celeron 400 is slower than a 400Mhz Pentium I. I believe it also lacks the MMX command set.

Certainly 'lag' in the sense of poor framerates is not an issue I suffer with on my machine, a P2Ghz, 512mb, GeForce2 or indeed my slave machine P800, 512mb, TNT2. I would imagine a new PC is going to sort out the problems you have experienced. Which is good because then you'll be able to play my games

However 'lag' is normally a reference to network performance and in the case of DB that meens multiplayer gaming. The multiplayer aspect appears to perform at about the same speed as far as I can tell, as lag is really down to the way that the specific application/game has been programmed or your network/internet connection.

Yeah, I had that problem too (and the "game" didn't even have but four items on the screen) ... DBPro doesn't like any kind of Savage card. I got a GeForce4, and would highly recommend it.

P.S. This is what the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.
