Can someone tell me how to add the "join game/host game" on the menu? plz ive been wondering this for days?

here are the steps:
1. Read the Manual!
2. Search the forums
3. Go to file
4. Go to Preferences
5. Change to multiplayer
6. Give me a thousand bucks.

um, ya, i did that, i think i have a brain. how do you set the join game seting on the menu, thats the problem.
