I found quite a few people dont know how to UV Map their objects and i got bored of typing the same stuff over and over again, so i made this tutorial. enjoy!
Plain text version:
Go to
http://www.uvmapper.com/ and download UV mapper CLASSIC, then save your model as an obj file and open it in UV mapper classic. Then go to edit-> new UV map-> box, then go to edit-> tile-> by group and then resize and move parts of the map until it covers most of the area. After you've done this go to file-> save model and save the model, and then go to file-> save texture map save it as 1024 by 1024, open it in whatever graphic editor you use and get texturing, but save as a JPG, TGA or DDS (if you can) file not a BMP. You should UV map before animating you're model as UV mapper classic doesn’t export animations.
Edit:
for the texture to work in fpsc the maps dimensions have to be a division of 2, eg. 1024x1024/1024x512 etc.
