Hi,
I'm using Max 7, and I have a slight problem. I'm using a cylinder shape, and I want to sort of do a 'cookie cutter' action which will leave a hole carved out in the shape of the cylinders base (the cylinder is overlapping a cube, and I want a sort of 'carving out' of the cylinder into the cube)

I have all the 3ds Max docs, but I can't seem to find any such tool/modifier (mainly because I don't know what it will actually call it).

Any ideas on what tool or modifier to use for such a thing?

Any help is highly appreciated, thanks

boolean or shape merge work, but will leave your mesh, messy. I would do it by hand, personally.

Ah, boolean subtraction, that's it

Now I know the name, the tutorial has helped me quite a lot. Thanks for telling me/reminding me of the name of the tool. You have greatly helped my modelling
