Remember the early Final fnatasy games? I created something similar but its 3d over head veiw and such. I used the huge dungeons tutorial provided on the DBPRO site but replaced the walls with trees mountains and houses, and I was wondering if some one who had written this tutorial or played with the idea of making such a game would know how to fix me problem. The FPS SUCKS!!!!! And my computers really good. so I've taken out objects like the 12 polygon trees and removed textures, and I hide the mouse but nothing changes the 12 FPS! THe screen is never displaying more than 1800 polygons at a time, so whats the problem? I have the FPS set to 0 and FASTSYNC on. It loads an ASCII file with H,T,M and such in a grid to build the level. So anyone who knows anything about the huge dungeons tutorial or has an engine for making 3d tile scrolling game and would like to give me some pointers please tell me.

PS this is my dream here if anyone has done this and run into a problem of memory trouble respond...

2.26 Ghz Pentium 4
512 mb SDRAM
32 mb geforce 4 video card

12 FPS IS NOT GOING TO WORK. IT DROPS 7 POINTS WITH EVERY NEW OBJECT I ADD... SO IS IT THE PROGRAM TRYING TO BUILD THE LEVEL As I move??? ASCII map for input...

Relax, thats a pretty deep problem man... I would like to hear from some pros about 3d tile scrolling games. Sounds cool but I can't help you, I have about the same question. Maybe somebody will help us.

We could have handled that better.
