the light on the M4a1 is simply the classic volume effect on a couple polygons, because the gun is moving around with the player, it could move into dark areas and the light would not have its affect, and i couldnt create an illumination map due to the fact there is multiple textures

ofcourse, its still there if you want to texture it back on, on the M4a1_L.tga texture (i think its called that) half of the texture is blank, amongst that you can texture the "light" back on

be sure to use transparency though

I believe Licht is German for "light".

lol, not really, 1) you arent modeling anything 2) all you really need to do is use a gradient tool in an image editor, here you go, save this texture into your m4a1 weapon folder.

Thanks for your texture.
another question: Is it also possible to see the "light" really on the wall and ground, so a room with no light will light up(not totally) of your gun???

There are some good flahlight scripts out there as long as your expectations are reasonable.

The lite version of the flashlight script S4real and Locrian whipped up is posted on one of these boards.

edit: hah! crossposted with s4
