do you have to be administrator to save the games you create?

I am able to create a game, and play it, but I have to have an
administrator account to save it.

I've got kids, and I don't want to give them Admin privileges.
Is there a way to get T3DGM to work with just Limited Privileges?

thanx
ted

If your talking about a FPSC game they would need to run the game from the user folder or their desktop I believe. Then the game can write to the disk.

do you have Windows xp pro or home, because its slightly different when making accounts, if its home, then check in ya account options, see if you can loosen the limitations on saving things and installin exe's, because sometimes limited accounts dont allow you to installin or save exe's

If this question is about the 3D Gamemaker (and it appears to be) I am not sure which forum it belongs in.
You would have to contact Customer Service and ask them about your 3D Gamemaker problem.

Either one of the following options should work.

1. Do a save as, and point it to a folder in you’re my documents folder. This will have write permissions for your user account.
2. Log in as administrator
a. Open up my computer and browse down to the default save folder
b. Right click on it to bring up the menu
c. Left click on Sharing and security
d. If you have a security tab, click on it. If you do not, you are running XP home, so try option 1 instead. If it does not work let me know.
e. Now that you have clicked on the security tab and click on the users entry.
f. With the user account highlighted click the allow button after full control.
g. Click apply and close it.
h. Depending on how the accounts were created, you may need to do this for each username to allow access.

Hope this helps
