Here's mine. A lot of love went into this. It a FPS with vehicles and tons of destructible things, including flying body parts.

I'm going to do a small update, but it's essentially finished. I've already submitted.

@ Cash:

looks like it's a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to play it! (Hopefully it also works in Sw-Mode!)

wow cash that looks great, I submitted mine, I was going for a fps aslo but I couldnt get bullets to work. So all I submitted was a lame level demo, that is kinda crappy. I am pretty sure you have a good chance of winning. Maybe you can show me how to make a gun work. Thank you.

I'm using raycasting. I apply a force to the object hit. The force is the normal of the hit, reversed, and multiplied by around 1000. You would probably use 100, because my scale is x10. My gravity is set to 98. It works really well. Oh, and I'm using Sparky's raycasting. Using DP raycasting isn't good for this because you lose any concave surfaces. Sparky's allows pixel perfect detections, and it's fast.

It does work in SW mode. It detects the hardware and the way it updates is different for SW and HW modes. However, it's a very demanding game, so no guarantees. I've had my brother beta test it and it worked great for him, once we got the drivers installed. That was a bit annoying because the 5 mb downloads were useless, so there was some wasted time.

well here is a screenshot of my level.

There is not any real gameplay, you can just interact with the environment.

The next news-letter will tell us the truth!

Maybe some people found the nVidia-Comp more attractive than the DP-Hardware-Mode-Comp! Who knows! (It can only be good for you!)

Too bad that the official-submit-page was never updated! (Would have been usefull to us users!):

Maybe next time!

There were 3 known entrants of teh software compo, but 12 actually entered. Of those, some were people I would have expected to make themselves known butr didn't for whatever reason.

The beauty of the Nvidia competition is that it forces people to do what used to happen anyway - post details about your entry. It's far more exciting and informative to see what's happening and the progress being made.

@ BatVink:
Yes, in fact it was my first entry, I was a bit "shy" to make a post of my "crap"-progress!

In the next compo that I will enter (if I ever dare to do so again), I will make a so called WIP!

Probably I am one of the culprits here

And as an apology, I did release the full source code of my game.

I'm not saying it was wrong to "hide", it was just unusual that this is the way it happened this time. In previous compos lots of people posted WIPs and asked questions about their progress.

The reason i did not announce my entry to the software contest was I only entered to help boost the number of entries as a way of thanking and showing support to the TGC for such a great product.
I had no expectation of winning nor did I put in enough time to earn a prize.

There is a certain appeal to being a 'quiet professional'. Of course, that only helps if you yourself are that quiet professional, because it doesn't make for an interesting event if everyone is quiet.

I think that there are too many compos running concurrently. We had Dark Physics, Nvidia, Sketchup, FPSC, and more I'm sure. They should be spread out more

If I win this one, I'll try my hand at the Nvidia compo. If not... I think I'm done. The stress and Red Bull are a bit much. I've always wanted to make a FPS game, and I've always wanted to make a full physics game. I did those at least.

I am kinda quiet as to what I usually work on. But that cause I generally think its not the best. I dont really care if I win/loose I just wanted to try this dark physics out and I think its great, but buggy. I am more than likely going to enter into to nivida compo, but I am just going to be building on what I have done here. I dont really care if I win/loose that one either. I like to program this stuff so its worth it to me anyways.
