EA and Eidos are publishers not development houses...
and i wouldn't count on DarkBasic Pro being used - probably will be taken up be the smaller houses, but just isn't stable enough nor is it accessable enough for a big houses.

to a professional staff who work in the bigger houses the time saved by using DBpro would be minimal really, because most teams can get up a basic engine similar to DBpro in a matter of a week ... and have it designed specifically for the task in hand which makes it much faster.
i don't think we'll ever see DB Professional within that end of the market, it'll have to become a fully standalone language with DirectX as an APi library.

I have to agree with Raven here, you won't see any AAA rated titles made in DBPro and large development teams won't use it for finished games. It would be too much of a gamble for them really - they don't have access to the source code behind it so if they hit a bug there is no way around it. Even now they might use the likes of the HAvok utils or whatever, but those are source based so there is no risk to take. However we do know for a fact that some of the Microsoft X-Box Development teams use it for proto-typing.

Cheers,

Rich
