I am trying to stop the foot step sound from playing, because I have a hovering character, but even if I delete the sound set from the options of the entity, I can still hear foot steps. Ive even tried getting getting it to run blank sound files, but it still plays the [mod edit] foot step sound.

I dont want to use the no gravity script, because then the character will move through walls. So does any one know how to stop the sound from playing?

deleting the sound directly from the soundbank seems to work for me, did you try that?

another option would be to gointo the segments' .fpi files and change the material type to 0 or erase it.

I'd replace the sounds with silence. Setting the material value to 0 will mean that no decal is displayed when the wall is shot.

What i would do is wait till you build the final game, and then replace the sound with a blank sound.

i make all menu, hud, and sound adjustments AFTER i build the final game...

You almost have to make all of those adjustments after you build the game if you want save/load to work properly.
And add any huds, skyboxes and stuff like that that you change to the folder your built game is in.

.

both these options would mean there would be no sound of footsteps for any player or character

But what if I had some character in game which did not have legs? Something like a robot with wheels, or a slithering snake etc?
I would want ONLY that character not to have footstep sounds.

Any suggestions?
