Screwed up my ENTIRE thing. I downloaded to see what was going on with it. (All the posts were saying that there is a bunch of problems). So I checked it out, and yes there was TONS of problems so I got rid of it. Now when I click on the icon to go to my map editor all I get is this blank screen and it crashes. So I repaired 1.03 at least 99999 times but it still does the same thing. I would post a screeny but I deleted 1.03 and I'm reinstalling it now.

Any ideas what is goin on? GRRRRRRRR! Things like this make me angry

what are you talking about?

that's weird, 1.04 was soooo much better for me, my frame rates are at 31 for most of the level.

plus this fixed the "object does not exist at line blahblahblah" bug

While I have had some minor issues with weapons...FPSC is a little more picky about who you give what weapon to and how well they function...I would say overall that 1.04 RC1 is a success.
The pickup in speed alone is cool.

I like it. It's better than 1.03 RC3 in my opinion. Ofcourse we all know about opinions. LOL

Sorry for double post but, how much faster would you say that 1.04 is? Since my entire thing crashed I had to repair everything and I haven't redownloaded 1.04 yet. I'm not sure I'm going to unless the frame rates is much better. Would you say about 10 frame rates faster or 5?

Well you can't really say 10 or 5 frames better - depends. If you were getting 20 Fps you'll probally get 10 more now (30 FPS) cause levels that use to lag on me lag no more!

Global settings,yes.
Huds,no.
You should still find any custom huds where you left them unless you altered the stock ones and did not change their names.
That is why you should back up everything before you make any changes.

Yeah I'm waiting for the next one too, flashing snall. I personally think 1.04 wasn't done very well.

While I have to admit I still need to do some testing with 1.04 RC1 and I have some issues with enemies and their character usage which can easily be solved (or at least it appears so up to this point) by using the right enemy for the gun I am happy with it overall.
The speed of my game seems to have picked up and the lag seems to be nonexistant.
I will reiterate that I need to do quite a bit more with 1.04 RC1 before I can pass complete and total judgement upon it but at this point it is working fine for me.

Hey Fred- When you say
Quote: "by using the right enemy for the gun"
.

Does that mean, if I changed the enemies FPE around and have them start with a gun from model pack 5, does that mean that would solve it? Because I want to use those awesome guns from pack 5. I would test it myself, but last time it sorta messed up my entire thing, so instead I asked.

If a charcter says "Aiko (pistol)" for example, the animation would be an animation for a pistol-type weapon and so on.
Giving Aiko (pistol) a rifle type weapon might create issues.
And none of the characters in FPSC use melee weapons well.
They tend to use them like a gun.
You're better off unarmed with a melee script.

No, I've just tried it, see my reply in the V1.04RC1 sticky about the SAS man.

Was your SAS enemy the pistol one or some other kind?

The pistol one, I tried him with other stock weapons and they showed so I'm thinking you can't have stock enemies holding Pack 5 weapons, can you?

Make sure you tell Lee what happened also, that will help him get V1.05 done much better.

I'm glad that works well for you, but how about us people trying to use custom made weapons. Your solution doesn't work then. I've made sure the fpe script points to my custom weapon, but no luck.

So, I'm very unhappy with it, but V1.03 doesn't have this problem, so I can always got back to that one and put up with the lag..... a well, isn't an option either. V1.04RC2 is the solution.

I haven't had time to test all of the weapons or to see if custom weapons work.
I would think that if I made a custom pistol an entity designed to shoot a pistol should be able to use it properly.
I have not tested my theory though.
I usually don't make custom weapons for entities to carry.
I usually make them for the player to shoot an the entity with.
In a few (if I get a chance) I will have to do some more testing.

I want to make current unhappy 104 RC1 into much happier 104 RC2. In order for me to do this I need help from those who are experiencing unhappyness, in the form of some tecnical testing with me. I cannot really work with 'it dunnie work no mo', and need something a little more substantial. Please email me (lee@thegamecreators) a full description of your woes and any supporting material (such as FPM levels) so I can reproduce your issue quickly, and fix it quickly also. I already have RC2 close to completion which fixes things like sound does not load, missing character weapons and the version number bug, but I want to fix more. I will go to the bug forum now and continue there, but if you want me to help you, you absolutely must give me the means to reproduce your bug, or I am powerless to resolve it promptly.

LeeBamber, thank you so much for opening the eyes of these guys

It's so true, no one can fix anything, if they don't know wheres the problems, and when it comes to software, each system will most likelly emulate a diferent problem. I think you already have stated this during 1.02, no?

I really can't test much of the FPSC updates, i'm so busy with my work and with my school at night :/ I barelly sleep at night... (when are those vacations comming, jezz...)

My love is seperated in 2 parts, 1 of them is 3ds Max 7, the other; FPSC.

Lee,
I e-mailed you with some .fpm files to help illustrate the issues I am having with assigning various weapons to enemy entities.
If I can do anything else to help please let me know.
