Hi all,

A bit of post-compo analysis for you all.

Hits to our site went through to roof Over the period everyone was waiting for the results (24 hours) we experienced no less than 1,849,013 hits to our web server (which is just over 21 hits per second) so full kudos to Pair Networks for hosting such a great server for us

Our new fileserver coped well too and took 6610 hits (2206 files equalling 11,630,240 KBytes) in the same period.

Most downloaded games are as follows (this is VERY interesting when you consider the winning games!!)

1) Red Situation (420 downloads)
2) Girls from the Block (385 downloads)
3) 3D Bubble Bobble (382 downloads)
4) Jetpac2003 (343 downloads)
5) Diam Diam (269 downloads)
6) Retro Fighter (242 downloads)
7) Doom 6666 (217 downloads)
8) Super Kario (205 downloads)
9) Astral Mega Invaders (198 downloads)
10) Battle for Hoth (196 downloads)

Amazingly 46 people downloaded Dark Doom, even though it doesn't work at all

Remember this is just a 24-hour period, I imagine the downloads to increase a lot more than this over the coming weeks.

Cheers,

Rich

Doom works for me (^_^)

theres the proof ... pretty fast and furious - and ALOT of fun

however the camera is a little too responsive, and the people are insanely hard (even for me) to go up against... with the fact you start with a knife against a marine and cacodemon in the first room it's insane!!

however for DB Standard (1.09) that is one well developed game
graphcis are pretty outstanding for what they had to work with, pitty you never got it running.

No it's Dark Doom that doesn't work, he didn't include several required .col files for collision. The shot you posted is from Doom 6666 which I know works Edit: Also you start with a knife, shotgun and sniper rifle! Press the 1,2,3 keys and press F8 in the game to put your health back to 100% (very useful).

Cheers,

Rich

Hehe, I got to see the DarkDoom running, just before I fell through the floor infinately!. It was a nightmare, but I managed to get the level setup files from the .exe, no luck on the .col files though, no obvious file headers so I could'nt suss it out (although it is carto shop stuff). If I get it working before the guy who made it, he has to give me his first born.

cool! hey Rich, did you get the updated version of retro fighter?, i.e. v1.1 i updated somethings that i didn't have the chance to before the competition deadline! i'm gonna leave things like a.i. character diversity and other stuff you mentioned for part II of the game.

I'm quite impressed Hoth still made the list as it had 650 downloads before the competition results where announced! Jetpac was on 750 downloads but was released considerably earlier

Red Situation is a pretty cool game! Those monitor screens are cool! you can see the dbpro software 'n' all, it's kinda like they where making the game in the game yeah, i guess the main problem is the A.I. but hey, who am i to complain, my A.I. was shite (not enuff time to complete ) anyways to summarise i was impressed

Thanks, follow some tips:
1) Shoot in the corridors lights and you'll be surprised......

2) Use the first tip do kill the bad guys!

3) In the roof there's a room...pay attention on the signs or....

4) In the blue door rooms (not in all) there's a medkit to heal Agent Oito's energy, use it!

5) After you steal all the Top-Secret-Documents the lobby's door will open, get out of the build....quickly!
