So ever since I got FPSC I've had this problem, I know it's my computer's fault, not FPSC's so I wanted to keep this out of the bug reports, but was wondering if someone had an idea how I could tweak the code to fix it. See, the problem (see screeny attached) arises when I get shot at by any gun, with the except grenades and rocket launchers. When I shoot any gun it's fine. It's only when my character comes under fire. My computer is a normal laptop (by normal I mean a cheap one, not great video card, but I play a lot of other fps's and they work fine) and I have direct x 9c so everythings up on that, so if anyone has an idea let me know.

P.S.
Mods if you disagree with the location of this post, feel free to move it, I just felt like this wasn't a bug do to Lee's or anyone's coding, just a cheap computer.

From this pc, for me the ss is way 2 dark (can only see hud, and the stats below), is that the problem you get when you're shot?

If it is... well, i just gotta say it's really a strange bug :/

Did you try reinstalling FPSC (uninstall, delte FPSC folder, and reinstall), installing the latest FPSC patch, making shure you have the latest dx9 version (september or october, dunno wich month is the latest one), updating latest drivers for graphic card, making shure you got SP2 of winxp, etc.?

Perhaps this might help, if it doesn't, well, we just have to wait until someone knows what else to do.

My love is seperated in 2 parts, 1 of them is 3ds Max 7, the other; FPSC.

^^ i ddin't want to say that, since most people get a bit offended (buy a new pc).

Anyway, go with what i've told you, try updating everything you can.

After that, tell us if it worked or not, ok?

The blue is what I'm talking about, my laptop is a Acer Aspire 3000
Mobile AMD Sempron 3000+, 1 g of ram, SP2 is installed. The videocard is SiS M760GX, no big nvidia card , but as it is, I am unable to upgrade with out a new laptop, which I have already sworn myself into building a desktop for my next computer.

@DJ-I've found a SiS M760GX driver 3 months newer the the one I have, however I have to wait until I'm on dsl to grab it.

Ok DJ, I upgraded the driver but alas, the blue phantom still is there. However, aside from all this I have decided FPSC games look better in black and white

Urlforce, laptop graphics cards are notoriously useless(although I'm sure someone will now leap to their defence)... Even the big name cards are not as good as their desktop counterparts...

I think on many new games it says on the box that laptop cards are not supported...

I gave up trying to play anything more taxing than civ 2 on my laptop a long time ago...

'Dawn of the Fallen Angel' coming soon(ish)...

I've played America's Army, and i'm currently creating a mmorpg with a rather extensive engine with no graphic errors, so I think it's something with the fpsc gun flashes, however in America's Army, they work fine (Muzzleflashes) I know for a fact my computers card won't do shaders, which is killing my nvidia entry spirit, most of the time I compile something and hop on to a computer with shaders but I at least want fspc to run fine.

I thought Half Life 2 was a 2 year old game...

I'm not trying to say your computers are rubbish and won't play all the latest games... I was just trying to point out that laptop graphics cards don't have all the bells and whistles of their desktop counterparts... The issue you seem to be having looks related to your graphics card more than anything else...

Laptops are nice and all but due to the way they're designed I don't think they're suitable pc gaming devices... at least with your desktop pc you can upgrade to your hearts content... My desktop pc has been upgraded so much I don't think any of the original parts are still inside...

128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300Video Card on my dell sinpsiron 6000 laptop.

Thraxas, yup, half life is old, but thats the latest game I have played. I dont buy many games, so usually I make do with waiting for games to get old enough to be available on the net (shhhhh
