Sorry, i must be blind, but i can't find them in that page...
I am trying to not have to calculate the size using:
INTEGER Range : –2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647
REAL Range : 3.4E +/- 38 (7 digits)
BOOLEAN Range : 0 to 1
BYTE Range : 0 to 255
WORD Range : 0 to 65535
DWORD Range : 0 to 4,294,967,295
DOUBLE INTEGER Range : –9,223,372,036,854,775,808 to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807
DOUBLE FLOAT Range : 1.7E +/- 308 (15 digits)

Yes, integer types are exact representations, where float types are approximations and so have a larger range.

For a basic explanation of floats, look here : http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vclang98/html/_clang_type_float.asp

If you look around on the site, you'll find lot of detailed information.

Internally they're both DWORDS, so it's not that strange. Look at the Data Types tutorial available on this site for full details.

Cheers,

Hey. Great Tutorial Rich. Thanks. Anyway i only wanted to know the size of float type to use in a memblock (4 bytes).

But now i have other questions:

- I can't make net message string$() works ...
- I have noticed i can make "send net message memblock 1,4,1" to guarantee the send, but why can't i make the same for send net message float??. Is it always guaranteed?. Thanks!
