I don't think we're going to be adding any more Moderators at this time; otherwise you'd have to get in touch with Rich Davey about it. However, I don't think you'd be a viable candidate; given that you apparently have no idea as to what a Moderator is.

In any case; a Moderator (such as myself) is someone who roams the forums looking for violations of the forum rules, while still participating as an active member of the community.

That made me laugh.

Think about if you took that approach to everything in life.

SoulMan can be a good moderator. Just ask the last forum that I moderated. That place is so quiet now. I wonder why.....

Actually,
I am a moderator for my World of Warcraft Guild's forum.
I really haven't had to ban a user just yet but I have come close a couple of times. I wouldn't just ask for the job unless it was offered to me, although I have been a member of this community for quite some time.
I do like beta testing though.

No-one's ever been given mod status by asking for it. Rich has held a few votes in the past and if memory serves someone was given mod status because another user started a thread saying he deserved it and a lot of people agreed.

To be honest I think the mods get a lot of stick and spend a lot of time defending their decisions, something they really shouldn't have to do.

When I first joined I was like OMFGZOORZZ I wanna be a mod. I can safely say I won't be getting asked any time soon but if I was I doubt I'd say yes.

It would appear I've been bitten by the coding bug yet again...

I think part of the problem here is that the users don't understand that the mods are under rules that they have to follow from The Game Creators. While they might cry foul and freedom of speech, this is really not the place to do so as it is forum and a set of rules that everyone follows. If you want to post here you have to follow the rules you agreed to when you signed up. If you don't, you will get punished for breaking those rules. The only people the moderators should have to answer to is The Game Creators.

Thanks.
We have to enforce the rules.
We may not like it sometimes and we probably tick some people off but it's our job.

Do Mods Get To Meet Lee Bamber????
Is there like a mafia connection, you meet and discuss methods to eliminate opposing forums, FPS Creator clones etc?
OMGZERS great Nvidia Compo Idea! Possibly even cult film!

I'd love to be a mod, but I much prefer a situation of the Forum Owners approach you, rather than you approach and bug them for the position...
