Hi there.
I have a simple question (I think it is simple)

Let's say I made an .x model of Subwoofer speaker.
ON this subspeaker I want to add a Rotating Knob (for example to change the volume)

In DB Pro (patch 4) I want to consider the knob as a limb of the main Subspeaker Object.

How do I make the Knob so that it is considered as a limb?
I mean Do I create a Bone between the speaker and the Knob and DBpro will consider it automatically as if the knob is a limb attached to the subspeaker?

Do I export speaker and knob as separate .x objects and do some add limnb comand in DB pro?

I would prefer to be able to do the model complete in my Modelling Software and export it in a way so that in DBpro it already gets loaded with limbs detected by DB Pro....

never mind my english, is no my main language

Thanks

It is easiest to create limbs in a 3d modeling program (such as milkshape). You would have to create a bone and asign the speaker to one end and the knob to the other. Then you could easily rotate it from db.

Otherwise if you don't have milkshape (or another program which exports bone) you could create them (speaker and knob) as seperate objects and position them within db (though this is very tricky).

Hope that helps,
Oliver

Hey. I think i can help. There are several ways of doing that.

Which is the easiest?. Depend on your game. Some of them are:

1 - Make different objects in the 3d modelling software. Then Export two .x files. Then, in DB, load both and use:

glue object to limb KnobObject,SubWooferObject,0

And After that you must position the Knob object in the relative position and then you can rotate as you want.

2 - Export all in a one .x FIle. Then IN DB, after load, look for the limb of the Knob SubObject, and rotate as you want.

Hope it Helps!. Good Luck!

Hi
thanks for your reply guys

I'm lucky enough to be able to use Maya (I work for a Company that uses Maya so I can use it some time for my little hobby things!) with a .x exporter plugin

So I guess the easy solution would be to use bones and simply export the object with skeleton as one single .x object....
then in DBpro manipulate the limb as I wish.
Cool, thanks I'll try it
