DarkBASIC Professional Discussion / Rollover text?????

im creating a tile editor but on my options i want it so that when you rollover one of the options it tells whaqt they are instead of writing what each one is on the picture which would take more room.
pleae help if you can. thx

No clue what you mean man...can you describe it more thoroughly? Like what is rollover text?

Not sure I get what your talking about.

But if its what I think, why not just have the text on a seperate graphic, and ghost it in on the mouse event.

no what i meant was that i have pictures and when you hover the mouse over them text appears under the mouse(kind of like when you hover over the X in the corner after a few seconds it says Close under the mouse) i hope that explains what i want more

Oooooooooo tool tip text. You could do that easily.

Just draw a 2D square and add the text inside of it. of course if you want it to be exactly like that but you'll have to do a slight delay.

o_O I know what you want... heres the rollover text (a simple function made by yours truely) (zone clicked wasnt made by me... the window one was o_O I won't give you the updated version of it... top seceret...)

make a bitmap
store the current image and text into this bitmap
make a sprite way up the numbered system so it sits on top of everything.

attach the current bitmapped image to the sprite.
If mouse is over a specified area then display the sprite.

im really sorry if this is annoying anyone but i know what i have to do i just dont know how to do it. i guess i was just in too much of a rush the first couple of times to explain myself so ... here goes. i want it so that when you hold the mouse over the image it tells what it is(kind of like in matedit where you hold the mouse over the picture to the left and it tells what they are) so far what it is i have a panel on the right. each square is 64x32 the right panel is 129x65(an extra pixel to seperate pictures) it hold 4 pictures. right now and i have the pictures in place. all i need is some code to have the name appear under the mouse cursor(which is 13x13 in case it matters) i dont want it to have a delay like the X or anything i just want it to show up. thx if you can help and im really sorry for being annoying or frustrating

[edit}ok i have an idea to make a different cursor for each one(same cursor with the text under it) but the same question how do i tell it what area and how to change the sprite over that area
