Hey everyone.
This is the base of a game/demo i am working on. It will eventually be something that i hope resembles that of a Resident evil and MGS game, storyline included.

For now this is jsut a test level with camera views. i received good feedback in the DBDN forums with an earlier version, this one has collision. and with the camera code redone(cleaned).

I have clocked this demo at 45FPS as there is currently no need to get the public speed. I personally have reached an FPS rate of 350FPS average throughout the level.

I suggest viewing is done in a dark room.....for atmosphere, heheh

you can download the 1.56mb demo at this location
http://www.darkbasicplanet.com/interotest.zip

feedback is appreciated, thanks

Very Very impressed, am I right in guessing you used the force methoad where you place invisibal objects and when the character collides you reposition the camera, or have you used a diffrent method? Also can you please tell me what you made your level in because it looks great.

pretty neat that! like the way the camera switches, true mgs/re style if i was doing that i would define zones or something so depending which zone the character was within the camera would change position and point at the character!

the level looks very cartography shop -esque which is good because cart shop is actually really good for levels.

hehe thanks

redostrike: there shouldnt be any flicker, perhaps its your gfx card, drivers etc, tho you wouldnt be the first to complain about wall flickering.

FurEffect: I use zones, if you want the full source you can, this is all up only about 120lines of code, and its fully documented too, so its very easy stuff

Beautiful!
I like it, but I also get the white flicker occasionally, it's something to do with textures I think...

raps the flicker isn't the textures, its the zbuffer - i think he needs to setup the camera range better (big black trangles on the edge of the walls that connect told me )

Finally, a DBPro exe that runs on my PC!!! (direct x got messed up for a while.) Unfortunately, my pc is meant for file storage and not games, so i got a pitiful 10 - 12 FPS. Bah. But it looked great, aside from some white lines across the walls. (is this the flickering everyone is talking about, or is my Pc just Bad?)
