Yah, so I'm in school now working on a spaceship. We got to make a spaceship to practise our polygoyng-extruding skills, and this is what I came up with. I'm wondering what you guys think should be improved on it in order to be as good as possible. So.. What do youn think?

It looks kind of bland( a good bland though ). I think you should have some turrets or missile launchers and the sort sticking out of it. Good luck!

ahh maya 8, tis a superb modeling package to be using.
the tip of what appears to be the bridge could do with a little more polys to smooth it a little.
Under edit mesh is cut faces, many ways to do this but i think you understand the result.
Some extra detail like wing modifiers akin to todays aircraft would improve the overall look.

Did you mirror the other side afterwards?, Ive been trying to find a symmetry modeling feature but havent tapped into it yet. imagine you model an arm, and the other arm is being made while you tweak the other.
