Ooh...that's a hard one, but it could be Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the N64, but I also like Super Smash Bros Melee on Gamecube a lot.

Super Mario World and Super Mario Advance 2 (almost the same game).

I can't decide what my favourite game would be... WAIT! OF COURSE!

My favourite game would be... PAC MAN!

Question: Was PacMan really based on a pie chart?

Giants: Citizen Kabuto for PC. If you haven't played this game, you haven't lived. Hilarious cut scenes (laugh out loud!), the most amazing single player I've ever played, and the game looks tear jerkingly beautiful.

and

Space Station Silicon Valley for the N64. Another haven't played haven't lived game, this is the most entertaining and challenging game imho to ever be released on a console. Seriously, if you still have an N64, go find this game for 5 bucks, it is the most time consuming and great game ever. Better than any box or cube title i've seen.

Combine Sonic 3 with Sonic and Knuckles for the Mega-Drive and you have the best Sega game of all time. Other than Zero-Wing perhaps. "Make your time"

I tried Dues EX on PS2 and I returned it 3 days later. Why, may you ask, becuase of the controls. Ever since Turok I can't use the standerd "Golden Eye" console FPS setup. I hope the Dues EX 2 gives you more freedom to configuar the controllers, I hear it's one hell of a game.

V.E's Thoughts of The Day:

1) The PS2 version had extra secrets hidden in it
2) It has just been re released as a third person game (EVIL!)
3) I pity the fool who hasn't played the ATeam game for the Amstrad.

If I had to choose just one, I guess it has to be the original arcade version of...

I must have spent thousands of quarters on it back in the day and I still play it daily thru MAME on my PC.

Metal Gear Solid 2 was horrable, it had major plot holes.

I'm surprized how many people list Zelda OOC and not Link to the Past.

I cant believe a forum of supposedly nerdy computer programmers havent mentioned pong os some crap like that personally i think diablo 2 is the best game ever. I mustve wasted the better part of two years of my life playing that. have restarted three times due to inactivity and on each accout have had several level 90's with almost every item available. However, other games include:

- TFC - Was determined to become the best player online until the game got so easy i found myself drifting across to counter-strike.
- CS - After merging from TFC i had to change my style of playa lot since cs is a totally different game. Am now one of those annnoying players who comes into a rooms, gets the top score the leaves to find better competition. Although I cant say that for every server so plenty of room for improvement.
- Warcraft 3 - The actual game itself hasn;t really attracted me. Im a pitiful level 10 but I dont mind saying i am the king of DOTA

Ok now other that PC games:
Ocarina of time - have to say, i agree, it is great. I find it hard to settle into console games but that was so good i finished it the day i got it and took it back saying I had recieved two. Then I was annoyed because i heard that you get extra stuff when collecting all skulltulas so I rebought it (from a diff shop or the bloke would think im retarded) and tried to get all skulltulas... failed... miserably.
Zelda a link to the past - Bloody hard game. I had it on the es and got stuck on the bit when you warp between the two worlds. The i got a rom for it but It buggered up when i got really far, even further than that. I was collecting the things in the dirty world
Megaman series - On my NES I have to say that most of my time was wasted on the megaman games. Especially megaman 4 because it was the only one the game genie didnt work for so it was actually a challenge. I still have my NES but im being forced to sell it if ne1 is interested
Super Mario Bros 3 - Another classic nes game, I loved using the game genie with it because you can write in random codes and sometimes they work. If ne1 still has it with a game genie enter the code: YEUXKGAA . the Y can be replaced with any letter but this one is particularly cool.
Metal Marines - Now I didnt play this much cos it has no multiplayer, although i did own it on 3 formats because they were all different. If you want to try it email me and ill arrange a copy for you. Make it hush hush, i dont think its legal

Thatll do for now. Sorry about my bragging above but i really was/am that good

Everquest.

Just one comment from an earlier post: "The original version of Deus Eux for PC". The original I think was on the Spectrum, a little bit of pointless trivia for you there...

Original name was on the spectrum : Deus Ex Machina by Automata 1984. Have heard of it before, but never when I actually had a spectrum. Which is weird as I knew everything speccy at the time and had about 500 games (heh, can get a speccy emulator and 900 games on my GBA linker apparently. nearly twice my collection in my pocket ). Was supposed to be really good too. Although looks a little weird. Will try the emulated version later.

Oh, and best game? Elite. On the Spectrum 48 (With the Lenslok things). Was better on the 128, but never forget the original. PC version was crap.

Best PC game? Has to be Doom. First game I ever played as an adult that made my jaw drop, and totally need a PC at home. Heh, I remember thinking that games could never get more realistic than Doom at the time. And that was after playing Wolfenstein and Ultima Underworlde.

Cheers

I've just got the new Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for GameCube. My copy was limited edition, and came with an extra disc containing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (normal version AND previously unreleased Master Quest!). I don't think I'll be stuck for gaming for a while!

never liked the original DeusEx (anyone who's played it probably would agree, it was hardly what you'd call a game) - the PC version was an FPS trying to be an RPG and personally i think it sucked because of it ... i hate those games trying to be several opposing genre's thinking it'll work.
I know it has a big following but it should be in the hall of shame right beside Daikatana!

Elite for the me, the only true version of course Acorn - in glorius black and white
it just not elite if your not swearing at a spinning white rectangle and little triangles flying from it hehee

Captive, by Tony Crowther(Mindscape 1990).

Quite simply the best game ever; Have you ever had a game that you played for 3-5 hours per day, every day, for like 2 years! - I'm still only on level 32 out of 65,000+

Sorry folks but I agree with Raven on the Deus Ex thing, I never understood the appeal That said I'm not sure mixing genres is always a bad idea, its just something about Deus Ex didn't grab me. And yes, Daikatana was poo.
