FPSC Classic Models and Media / SketchUp and converting to FPSC

I'm playing around with SketchUp and it's fantastically easy to use! I've created a test thing that I want to import into FPSC. I've saved it as 3ds file, then used DBConv to convert it, but I'm not sure where to put it. I've put the .x file in the entitybank but it's not showing, do I need more than just the .x file?

Any help appreciated. If I can get this model in, i'll write a tutorial

Run the entity maker from the fpscreator download section on the homepage.

You need the .fpe, .dbo, .bin as well i think. Use 'make entites from x files', there's a download on the FPSC website, it comes with tutorials (very easy ) an x file on it's own won't do though, hope this helps.

DBO(or Dark basic object) is created by FPSC from the .x. Bin is created from the .fpe. You need neither a bin or a DBO to start with.

You'll need 3-4 files:
.x(your mesh)
.tga/.png(.jpg can be used but they look horrible)
.fpe( the script and how to for your model)

Optional:
.bmp( a 64x64 image of your mesh so the brain in the jar deal don't show)

Thanks guys, I've managed to get a model in but the scale is way off! Do any of you guys know how big a segment is in real values, like feet or inches?

Dont think feet/inches are nessacery. To change the scale, go to the folder the entitty is (entitybank/mystuff) or whatever, and open up the Wardrobe .fpe file with notepad - Wardrobe.fpe.
Press ctrl and f, and type in "Scale" When it finds it, change the number according to the scale in-game. eg:
Too big, Current scale-150. Change to scale-50
Too small, Current scale-150 change to scale-200 and so on.

Why yes....yes I do actually. I have a mock up I use for making items, basically a floor/wall/ceiling combo. Though you can't see my cursor in this ss you'll see that a segment is so close to 8'4" that it hurts.

Thank you Locrian! I've now managed to get a simple block into FPSC at the right scale I'll now work on something a little more intricate.
