Hey, iv been modeling some things in 3ds max for a game im planning on making. well the modeling is coming good but then came the problem. I was ready to map my first character/monster (its a goblin). Anyways for the skin im trying to use one map on the whole body, but what happens is that some areas it streches but others it does not. How can i make the map even throughout the model along all axis, and not distort in areas that boldge out. Im using 3ds max 8, and iv treid several things. I don't want to use map to face because ther would be to much detail, and it would not look good. Also uvw mapping would not be convenient because the same map is applied to a majority of the model. I have been using the right kind of appyling method...i think. i used planar from object xyz. There is a picture attached so u can see what i mean (i no the pelvis area looks a little wierd but goblins will have some kind of clothing there later, so i didn't model it well because it will be covered anyways) Hope you like it and can help me Thanx
