So I was just goofing around on the Gimp. Really don't know much about Gimp yet, but I managed to somehow come up with a really cool texture for the colonel. Sorry I'm not givin it away, because I'm going to use it in the December contest, afterwards I'll give it away if anyone likes it. What do you guys think? Is this good for a first person texture?

Note- is this where I would put this post? Please move it, if in an incorrect thing.

FredP- In my crosshairs, thread you said gimp is much better than crappy paint. I 100% AGREE I never gave Gimp enough time. I actually like it better than photoshop (only because gimp is free) Photoshop is soo expensive and Gimp is free and totally awesome.

I guess if your making a Tron type game it's OK.....Other then that it's just a lil layer/filter trick and not really that impressive.

Do you ever ENCOURAGE people? I've used Gimp for one day and have no idea what I'm doing. Just because it is a simple thing to do (kind of difficult for me though), doesn't make look stupid.

wow,,slamming Locrian...thats rough. He is one of the few people here that tells you like it is in all honesty. Thats whats wrong with half the people on here. They expect accolades for less than mediocre results ( not stating yours is less than). I kind of look at placing your work on the message boards like politics,,if your going to get into it, expect all types of responses, but at least read them for what they are,,,Locrian is a huge help on here, and his blunt truth is just what this place needs.

Jenkins for someone just starting out its not a bad job but i think you need to rename ya threads a bit better than cool texture when its just a simple layer texture over the original texture.


But keep up the work.
