Explain why .wav's are bad and why .ogg is better. I think it all depends on the sound your looking for.
When I write a death metal or heavy metal songs I prefer the analog 1.8 inch reel to reel over the new digital recording method.
When I write classical spanish, classical, modern rock or gothic rock I prefer the digital aspect because it allows me to add extra tone, reverb, track delays and more focused flanges, phases and chorus effects.
I know that this is a bit different, but it's still one in the same. with .wav you can get a very grainy old record store sound. and perhaps with .ogg you can get a crisper feel. Compression is another thing to look at but it depends on the song. If it's looped then I would not worry about it to much.
