2D All the way! / angle collision help

Hi, I have been trying to get angled colision together for ages. At the moment I'm trying to do it for a game of breakout. what I am trying to work on at the moment is the time difference between when the two outer sprites hit the angle line, using pythagoras you should then be able to find the angle for reflection.
If aany ones interested I can put a bit more on this later.
