Yes I've searched and there's a whole heap of door threads. I've looked through many but not all as I'm not sure where it's been answered before.

How do you make a door start open?

Thanks

Now I just have to figure out how to use it to have certain doors open at the start of the game! I haven't looked at scripting yet, still trying to get my head around level design

put the door, or doors' name in the trigger zone's "If used" box.

Right, tried that ST, when I reach the trigger zone (I've moved it from the player's start position), there's a brief pause (fair enough) and an unlocking sound, but when I reach the doors that should be open (in another room) they're still shut, would I have to state a certain frame of animation in the script to have them open?

The videos blank! Well, it's just a black screen with a little 64x64 pic in the top-left corner and what looks like a couple of black buttons on a start bar!

why not just reverse the door script so it starts at the open frame?

Nue B. or not Nue B. That is the question.

I don't know what happened with the video, but here's what you do.

1. Get a door segment (it has to be a remote door)
2. Make a triggerzone and give it my script.
3. The name of the door is most likely "Remote Door", so put "Remote Door" in the trigger zones ifused field.
4. walk into the triggerzone and the door opens and stays open.

Ahh, I was using "Painted Door" from 'Modern Day 2' (can't remember which pack it's from). does it have to be a Remote Door?

I think he means use the "Remote Door" fpi script located in your scripts folder.
