*wub wub* (Edit - This is supposed to be an alarm sound...) We have a developing Jon fletcher here, people.. Seriously, you are doing very well.. I've already seen some fairly quality work from you. You've been here like 2 days, and already getting right down to helping people/providing content (hopefully ).
I can see you will fit right in here.
As for the texturing, I would recommend downloading anim8or, and import the 3DS file into that. It has a built in UV mapper (To put textures on, poly by poly)
Hope to see more work from you, hopefully textured!
Yours,
Dan.

Try to resize your pictures so they are not so big. 800x600 is a good size.

couldn't have said it better myself, nice looking gun Xaque, if you can spare some extra pollies, try making the mag a bit more detailed.

keep weapons around 2000 or so, but I think you should go back to original mag, you can do that detail with texturing (or bump mapping, but I have no idea what it is or how to do it).

how long have you been modeling by the way?

Hmm, thunder says 2000, but I reckon you can spare even up to 3000-3500. This offers a vast ammount of polys you can use to your advantage.
And by that way, I noticed the fingers look rather sausage-like. Try joining between the fingers. See attatched

holy!!!!

wow, I wish I had just an ounce of your talent.

Quote: "3000-3500"

yea, you can, but that's pusing it a bit, if you have lots of other things in you level, it can cause slowdowns on some peoples' computers.

thats dang good for that short amount of time.

I'd stretch the bottom of the thumb out a bit, so it's not so uniform,

maybe you could just pull the verts at the bottom of the fingers ab0out a bit, as opposed to just adding more?!

Still, good work. Nice to see someone doing SciFI!

Characters and weapons often do run in the 2000-3500 poly range due to different parts and stuff such as that.
While you want to keep polys to a minimum in most cases you can splurge a little with characters/weapons.
It is a lot easier to keep nonanimated stuff low poly.
That gun looks a lot nicer than my first "block gun".

Not too shabby. Looking rather good, actually.
By the way, for your grammer disctionary:
Quote: "i try'et and here it is"
Is supposed to be:
I Tried and here it is.

Keep at it, your work is looking pretty good!

Thanks for the help with my grammar, it's nice. And, yes, I'm still working to be better at texturing.

Xaque I'm really IMPRESSED by your great work in a completly small ammount of time (4 days!!) Keep the good work man! and here is a tip: Try to make an arms and hands pattern, so you can make a lot of guns, and if you want to make a model pack, you've got all the same and that ease alot of things!

Keep the good work!

PS: can you give me some classes on modeling?
