This is my 2nd attempt to make a car (my first is now on page 5 or so)

I think it's started out better, even though its not quite done (try and find out which parts are missing )

obviously superhigh poly count lol (2.7 million, cranked up the subsurf levels =))
thought it would make a nice background for my computer someday...

here's another pic, and a better angle of the hood this time...
any ideas on how to make it more like metal instead of plastic?

Im the last person to give advice on anything 3d but I could hear the tumbleweed blowing through this thread. I would think a shinier effect on the bodywork would help, but it looks great. Good luck.

Venge, the detail is awesome, and the blue coloring actually reminds me of a model kit I once had of a Charger.

Cheers!

P.S. Please when you are finished do NOT texture it to look like the dukes of hazard General Lee. They are evil for doing so much damage to chargers

It does look great mate, 3D chat can be quite silent at times I'm afraid, I'd probably work on it a little bit more and then post, I'm sure you will find more people will have things to say then, also you could post sound wireframe.

Very neat - there's certainly a lot of detail, you haven't skimped at all.

lol
that means 9 minutes, 29.30 seconds

but i set OSA up to 16 and all that other stuff that makes it look awsome.

thanks for the feed back guys, i remember seppuku wanted a wireframe, so here it is.

if anyone is interested I might also post a low-poly version for games?
hard to tell what the poly count would be on that, but definitely under 5k polys i think maybe.

I am a Dodge fanboy.
I would love a model of a '69 Charger and I am sure a lot of others would too.
You have done a heck of a job on this.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

okay, the low poly version is finished

3856 polys =]

I put in some windows, you can take em out if you want but be warned,
the interior is pretty scary.

If there are any details that should be added/removed let me know.

Blender all the way man, its free and easy to use (despite all the ignorant people who take one look and give up)

but this isn't the place for that

'69 Charger, my dream car. And you didn't paint it as a general lee, even better!

I modelled a car once, I think you're came out a bit more realistic.

nice work! You could use the high poly car to normal map the low poly one too.

Also, what about some textures? maybe like a decal along the side or something?

I don't have a sig, live with it.
