I find combo's and drop down combo's to be real space savers when you have multiple choices while radio buttons are great for yes/no responses. Of course, it becomes a matter of aesthetics when you want to mix the two, so I guess I'm really no help at all, am I?

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.
