Too many dynamic entities can slow your game down. Large open areas can slow your game down. Random acts of god can slow your game down.

Those are intentional.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Try and keep your playing areas relatively contained.
Don't use too many unessential dynamic entities.
Consider using trigger zones to spawn enemies and/or dynamic entities.

This is about the third time I've said this in the past few days, so try using the search bar before making such a common post.

Have you ever seen the FPSC source code?

You do know Lee and Mike get together and say,"I wonder what happens when we add this line?We can post this as the next RC."
Just kidding,Lee and Mike.

Trigger zones, along with the aforementioned random acts of God,can slow down your level as well.
There are a lot of threads on the subject of FPSC and speed issues.
I am sure that if you search the forums you will find a lot of information on the subject.

There is a lot of debate about speed issues.

We currently have a number of issues which slow gameplay speeds which the end user has no control over. The information available at the forums and following good design practices as outlined in the manual and here too may help. At the end of the day best speeds can be achieved by the individual knowing their individual problems and having some experience with FPSC as to overcome them in each case.

While looking through the source, it seems to be that some major speed issues are the cause of unnessasary calculations and using parts of code that don't always need to be used. Unforutently, these are used in order to give the program a wider functionality. If you take it out, it may be fine for one person, but disable a useful feature for another...
