So I've been on vacation and I took the laptop with me. Over this past week I've made a few guns, with hands! I really struggled with the hands but they came out good. Only the fingers came out really bad. But they look good I think. Now I just need to export them to a program that can animate things or do something like that and texture them. Hope ya guys like 'em

Here is the first screen, its a shotgun, made from my beneli 12 gauge

that stuff looks really basic to me, you have tons of pollies to spare, try smoothing out along the edges so there isn't such a "sharp" feel. Like, your uzis for example, it's a few rectangles with a cylinder on the end, I know that you can improve that.

Yeah I just threw the uzis together really fast. But I can't seem to smooth things. The arms look fairly smooth but they're not. I've only been modeling for a week though, so I won't be making anything spectacular. When ever I use mesh smooth, the thing just looks like it swelled up by a bunch of bee stings.

Okay I need some help guys. Don't get mad, but I know you will.

I made these models in metasequoia and that doesn't support animating. So I'm trying to export them into a program that lets me. I've tried, blender, anim8tor, and truespace 3.2 (which are ALL free) I couldn't get the models in blender or anim8tor but when I load them into truespace the models don't come up. Can someone help me?! pretty please. I know animating is supposed to be hard in all. So what I'm going to do is the old fashion james bond goldeneye reload, where the gun just moves out of site and you hear it reloading. One problem I'm having is exporting. Metasequoia only gives me the option to export to DOAGCCAC (something like that) and it doesn't let me save as a .obj

Honestly I have no idea what I'm doing. Help is much appreciated.

No they aren't the hands that come with it. If they were, the polys would shoot up. I'll show you a pic of the fingers, the ones that come with metasequoia are all around perfectly smooth, but my fingers are all jacked up. here is a pic of my fingers. next I'll show a pic of the hand that comes with meta

I like the super shotgun thing too.

Here is the hand that comes with meta. Big difference

Plus, those fingers are textured. Wouldn't my arms be textured if I'm using them? I'm not though.

Okay, I know all the programs that I can animate with, but how do I open them up in the other programs? Someone please help, I beg of you. And I'm not one to beg. ,

I used metasequoia awhile back. Are u using the license version or the free version? cus i remember there is a file type that metasequoia can be exported that would work well with blender.

How come the arms are such quality, but the guns... arent?
Did you get the arms somewhere?

I know I was thinking the exact same thing. And organic models are harder than machine models. This will take time to ponder?
