I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this topic, but, I'm now working on a game and I need character graphics and music, seeing that I do not own correct software, and I need the stuff as soon as I can. I will describe as soon as I can what I want to put in and I will also put you guys in the credits.

Thanks for your time, guys,
thechocobohunter (I prefer that username one word and not three).

media creation takes a lot of effort, time and expertise.

No artist is going to join or help you unless you're already using cubes or primitives to manage your game assets and have a working engine or demo of your games final outlook.

People dont want to waist time with developers who have not yet put the effort in themselves.

Write a game document that describes your game, thats a great place to organize yourself as well.
Be very detailed with every aspect covered, consider it an overview of your games layout.

Once you have that document in place, start to develop the games structure using simple primitives that get replaced later.

Only then will you encourage people to help you with your project, prior to that your a risk that it wont come together and people will be wasting time trying to help a dead end project.

do you honestly think that anyone will make models/music/textures for you just like that? if your answer was = yes, then i am sorry to inform you this but.. no.. noone has time to model or create music for a project they dont know anything about... well, i wouldnt... If you actually want people to help you, you must show some progress of your game and if it looks nice enough people might be willing to help... then there are always people that will make models or music for you for money.. ever thought about that? ..

thechocobohunter, the problem here really is that you don't understand the level of work that goes into media creation. It is a huge amount, at least the same amount as would go into programming. Even worse, most games that get media made for them never get finished. You need something impressive to show first.

I agree that media creation is a lot of work.

Have you ever considered getting som eof the media off a website?
i.e http://www.turbosquid.com
There are various other websites which sell these. they also give free ones. And if you wanted to make them your own. you would have to get some software.

Theres never an easy answer.. NEVER.
Good luck with your project!!

Theres plenty of free 3d models out there. Most of the 3d shops offer free samples just look for the link on each website. Do a google for 'free 3d' etc. As a new programmer, these will be great to toy around with even though the samples are usually not as great as the ones you can buy.
