This is my first model using 3ds max. The model is done and i made a uv map using bond's tutorial video. The only problem is i don't know how to get the map into a picture format so that i could texture it. If someone could help me with that i could release it soon.

Not an attempt to be smart, but this post specifiacly shows you how to look up mapping questions in your documentation and even points out some of the 3dmax supplied tuts for mapping low poly game characters( the pilot max thats highlighted in the images.

Nothing you can learn here that max didn't provide us man....when you have an export problem Bonds the man to ask there. But for Max/Mapping/texturing questions see the softwares documentation.

Edit: ok first of all the tutorials don't help me at all because they show how make a uv map around a pre-made texture like the bi-plane one. I need to know how to take the UV map i made and get it into photoshop so i can make a texture for it. I saved my uvw file but i want to be able to open the map in photoshop.

bob, I don't know how 3dmax works, but in milkshape, you can export the UVmaps as a bitmap file.

Now this can easily be loaded in PS.

by the way, how do you intend to get the transparent plastic thing for the bottle? If you do figure out something, please do let me know!
