But now I can't because I just told everyone I wanted to

Beware of direct debit!!! optus internet just deducted $650 from my account with no warning whatsoever, not a nice way to find out they charge $3.50AUD per hr over the monthly limit

Oh well, easy come easy go

Nope, it doesn't work, no matter how hard I smile my hands keep involuntarily making strangling movements... Oh well here's a thread for all your hard luck stories

Pays to always read the small and very small print...

Not one to gloat (much), but I cant say I have that trouble - I just pay £30 for my ADSL line and £20 or so for line rental... The former is paid by DD and the latter isn't (as I dont trust BT to get it right).

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

we are with optus but dont pay for the extra usage allthough it drops to a 28.8 to 20k line until the end of the month.
3gig a month and sometimes little bonuses.

lightning fast plan

Indi: yeah that would be a lot fairer, though I guess bloody annoying in it's own way too. I've never heard of that plan, perhaps it's not available in my area. It's a shame 'cos I've never had any reason to complain whatsoever about optus as a sevice provider, not once have I been disconnected or unable to access. It was just a shock that they could deduct that much without so much as a warning email... Anyhow, problem solved

good stuff to know its no more dramas.

I signed up a few years ago, they may new plans.
They have faulted once for 2 days about a year ago, the rest is great.

Theres a webpage with an indicator showing how much bandwidth u chew up and how much u have left.

u feed it your account details and it will spit it back.

Yeah, I'm on Telstra Bigpond and I must admit they aren't any better at all. Not only do we have a 3 gig bandwidth limit per month (if you go over you pay extra) but the service is constantly going down - there's been a time where I haven't been able to access the net for over a week which is poor form. The only bonus Telstra really has is if you have a Telstra phone and/or cable TV then the price is reduced a fair bit.

I'd still switch to Optus though but unfortunately it's not available in my area.

ehem, 600k All Year Round, keep it on all day every day.

Its not the fastest but it works well with my games.

The Outside is a evil place to be, too much light, too much noise and too many distractions....
I went outside once and my FPS rate dropped to 5.
