That's not a wip. You can't possibly fix that. It's toast man...Bag it and tag it. Also, what happen to your give away in this thread?
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=96387&b=24
Is this how you plan on doing the members? Giving them false hopes with models, only to have them dashed and cast away like the foil from your favorite brand of cigarette?
I can even meet people half way that have no history of actually making one of these models FPSC ready. How about you texture it like Jikito( see threads: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=96554&b=24 and http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=96567&b=24 ) before you bump some thread on these forums when the ones on milkshapes forum would be a much better start for showing your models.

This is a wip for FPSC
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaZcAxaPUhw

Notice it's actually been mapped. A little movement was added. Some texturing. The proportions only slightly better then that of your own, but still much more likely to ever hit the FPSC "Files" folder. These threads are not FPSC WIPS. There 'hopes' for a pat on the bottom that bumps a legitimate thread. I know you've been around long enough to read all the threads. I know you know, cause everyone from Airslide to Zaibatsu has seen the threads man. Everyone's a little over this being a test site for models.

Of course I'm only speaking for myself here, butlike I said above, I can even see meeting people half way. If it's mapped and textured, sure, I can see that as being a WIP. But when you don't finish a model fifteen threads down, why would you post another then show us a grey surfaced bunch of boxes?

In closing I wanna add that there was talk of "The Good Ole Boys Club". Dude, you and Jikito started on the exact same day. Do you know the concession were going to have to make giving her the key to "The Good Ole Boys" restroom and not you?

Blackburn in his title did say its his first hand. meaning he has never modeled before. No reason to be harsh he is learning.. and for a first try its pretty good.. animation is not an easy thing and that can possibly account for the stretching.

Lociam hun: I dont think blackburn was trying to dash anyones hopes.. he obviously worked very hard on that model. he can only improve with time.

blackburn hun: here is a link or two to help on your quest on perfecting your hand.

dont give up.. practice makes perfect, Im not that good either...its all a process of learning.

@Jikito
My nurturing nature has left my body after the 3000th post of stuff you'll never see in a game, Jikito. It's fine if you want to spoon feed people. I have no qualms with that. Im not telling people to give up. I only ask that they post appropriately and quit being so selfish as to bump legitimate FPSC related threads for "My first model" threads. And other then 3dChat....this isn't appropriate. The name of this forum is "FPSC Models and Media" not "Post your first try here"

If you don't nip this in the bud, especially after Christmas, we'll be flooded with these kinds of threads. You don't have to agree with my tactics but it's kinda a proven method. You can bet 8 out of 10 people reading this will think when they go to post a far from finished model here, instead of Milkshapes forum-"Are any of those jerks going to post my thread? Will it be locked because I never finish anything I start? Will Laura leave Dave for the quick witted pre op?(OK never mind that last question, that was my favorite TV show).

It's not really a matter of dashing anyone's hopes. Anyone that knows me, knows I write most my post with a little flair for the dramatic. Those lines are meant purely for the entertainment of the people around the forums that feel much in the same way as I. I mean really, do you really think I believe anyone was waiting for that gun? I said that so I could say the line about casting away the membership, knowing most would crack a smile at the very thought of anyone's hopes being dashed because a freebie of that caliber was withheld.

The reason I do post is because this is very self centered and selfish. It may not have bumped either of your 2 threads tonight. But what about tomorrow. Or the next day. Eventually people are going to miss the 2 items, though not in fpsc yet, are very close and with the slightest nudge, are now items for the community. Now start bumping Butters freebies..and Staminas...And Ce's....and Freds..and all these others. There contributions get buried because someone wants a pat on the head and a cookie for slapping some boxes together. FPSC items suffer for some boxes?

That's my point
Loc
PS- Besides having a flair for the dramatic I'm also very long winded so my message is not confused, as I know some have a hard time if things arent explained in great detail. When I post I'm addressing more then the person I am actually talking to.

It is good that you are trying to make your own media, Blackburn. It is a process.

I've moved this because it isn't ready to go into FPSC, this is a thread on creating a 3D hand. Once you've finished it, and are ready to put it into FPSCreator; start a new thread stating so.

I am going to start coming down on the "my first model" threads (some of the long-running ones may be grandfathered in). If there isn't anything showing your work in FPSCreator, or the thread isn't about getting your "finished" media into FPSCreator; then it will be redirected here.

Its not a bad start, it has its problems here and there, personally, I wouldn't use the method you have used, its messy and difficult to clean, what you should do, is familiarise yourself with an extrude tool and a knife/cut tool, play with them and see if you can make a hand with them (Most 3D applications should have those features, if not, then your 3D program isn't very good)

Welcome to the 3D modelling world is what I say.

They look eerily reminiscent of the first hands I created...

I'm guessing you made the hand, and then made the fingers fit the hand. would that be right?

that's how I did it, then I re-modelled that, made the fingers first, then made the hand fit the fingers. The further away from the wrist you get, the more triangles you get, but for me, resulted in a neater construction

Here, have a good old laugh at the first hands I ever created... Human-ish arms, with possibly robotic fingers

Simply by making the fingers first (and persisting) I created some new hands... marginally better:

Good luck...

I'm sorry, I wasn't able to extract any meaning from little "pearl of wisdom". Could you please repeat that in the language we have all come to know as English? Oh, and one extra request: could you please do it when you are sane? Thanks!

Ahem! Please, leave your little quarrels away from the forum, we don't like rude/negatively sarcastic people around this part of the forum. It's not a good idea to get worked up by other members, what they do and what they say, its a large forum. Don't worry, that wasn't only aimed at Sam either, but those who have given parts of this thread a negative tone. So I say, lighten up a little, the dude is here for constructive on his model, so either give it to him or give him nothing.

As for the 'oh no this is not an FPSC wip' well by the title of 'FPSC Wip' it can suggest that a 3D model for FPSC is a fpsc wip, so you're going to find that, just point it out to him and ask him to ask a mod to move his thread to the proper places, simple, no need for the hissey fits.
