Well finally I learnt to animate, and got a few of the guns done. Okay heres the deal:
Before I finish off all the weapons, here are the AK47, M4A1 and Famas.
Please read the license, and follow it .

Please provide any bug reports here, and also please let me know if you've downloaded it.
Enjoy the "Beta" pack.

Hey Smitho I really like your guns, but I think the reloading animation of the m4a1 is a bit too slow...
the mag just slowly floats into the gun, but the oter animations are relly good.

Thankyou for the kind words, I appreciate it.
As for ridhs comment, I had a look on CS:S and compared to mine, and I agree. On the actual release, I will speed up the reload motions.
I aim to complete one animation a day, so hopefully I will be getting more vids on soon.
Again, thanks for the encouragment,
Yours,
Dan

Thanks people. Hope to hear your comments soon, Fred.
I finished the SA80, so thats ready. I dont think the pack will take too long to finish off.
I might post a video of the SA80 later, or I might just wait and make a compilation when everythings done - Not decided yet.
I think that's all I have to say for now.
Keep the comments/crit coming in, and thanks for those already posted.
Goodnight,
Dan.

I like the animation best on the AK47, I think the M4 needs some work though (Kinda weird how your clips go to the sides rather than just down and up like other games). I saw from the vid, downloading now...

The only thing that I have noticed so far is that there is no muzzle flash on the weapons but that is a minor point.

Ah, to fix the muzzleflash, smitho, just make a bone on the end of the barrel called 'FIRESPOT' and setup 'alignx/y/z' in the gunspec until it is in the right position

No you don't.
You can use the hud files (they are .x files) and textures from the folder the gun is in.

To the bone? Does FPSC not recognise the bone, or something?

To have muzzle flash on your guns open up the HUD.X in notepad and at the end add in this...

in the gunspec align the muzzle flash and change the size and everything. It should work, it's easier than just adding a bone.

Why would there be a problem with having another AK-47 in a free pack, versus a $20 one? Not really a valid point, is it?

Thanks a lot opposing force - that makes it really simple.
So here's another gun to test out, since its got the Muzzle on it.
SA80 attached.
Im not as pleased with this, as it's an odd gun to model - Quite difficult for a rookie.

Smitho - You can add it in like Opposing Force did, or you can just add in the bone attached to the end of the barrel (usually a 'branch' of the 'base' bone, which the whole gun is moved by). Then in the gunspec file, you modify the alignx/y/z values until the muzzleflash lines up correctly

This is the problem with these forums.
They guy makes free weapons.
Then you want pick ups.
He says no problem.
Now you want hands.
If he does that then you will want different hands.
If he does that you will want him to trim the fingernails...
He is doing this for free.
This is one of the reasons why a lot of people don't post free stuff on here anymore.

I am honestly not bothered about it. I am not currently up to the skill of adding hands as of yet... Therefore I know it wont be happening. A lot of people want more than what they are given, And im used to it now.

BUT no biggy, not bothered - Im proud of my development, and I think (For me) Thats what matters... And of course my beloved fellow users get a little something too

Smitho... If it's possible i would speed up the animation on the m4a1. If it isn't too much work. It would be hard to find yourself in a slowmo firefight when you are the only person in slowmo

Great work as always!

There is no difference between the two textures. I was told by a friend that you need both in the folder for them to function. They might be wrong, but nevermind. You make the texture look dofferent, open up Gun_2.dds and then you modify the texture over the top of where the gun is now. It need to be lined up perfectly with the old guns layout, for it to fit on the gun itself.
