Ok here is a screenshot of gallows wich I am working on, and hope to have done soon..but now I have a question for the more experienced modelers such as rolfy...

How should I proceed with the rope?

as far as the gallows themself, not sure if I will release them as an individual thing, or put together something themed...

You will need to keep the poly's down naturally.Best bet for a rope could be simply a taper deformed tube (not to many segments) and a bit of extrusion off the top faces, make it fat for the first extrusion and get thinner for the rest of the rope to the top of your gallows, this requires a nice texture to make it look good. There is of course more than one way to skin a cat and I am sure somebody will come up with a better method than this. You could even use a fixed decal.

Good luck, would it be possible to see a wireframe view of your mesh.

I did make a gallows for an animated music video some time ago but for that kind of thing I didn't have to worry about the poly count.

P.s. You probably dont need the strut you have running down the middle of your stairs.

Its pretty much low poly as it is Jikito you can probably afford a few for a reasonably smooth rope.

this is nice stuff Jikito.

As for the rope, the way I would have gone about it :

make a cylinder with 4 sides and 7 stacks (thats 28 polys only)
Make the cylinder thin enough and curl up the stacks for the noose.

when you make it you should make one with just the rope their and then another with a guy hanging off it. If you don't feel like modeling a person you could just import a fpsc character model. Nice work Jikito.
