DarkBasic Professional Power Tools

This is a tool compilation for the DarkBasic Professional Editor written with MS Visual Basic 6.
The following plugins are included to expand the functionality of DBPro's Editor:

- advanced color picker
- picture viewer ( shows BMP,JPG,GIF files from the source)
- remark old commands (rems all old/obsolete DB commands)
- add comment box (adds a nice comment box to the source)
- insert indention (press SHIFT at startup to setup)
- show stats (shows a source code statistic)
- bugreport (enables you to send a bugreport directly to the DBPro developer)
- help search (advanced help files serach plugin)

If you are interested in developing your own plugins with VB6 then there's also source code
and a wrapper DLL available. You can also create your own plugins and mail them
to me so I'll add it to the Power Tools. If you have an idea for a useful plugin you want to
see or want to add a plugin then just mail me at: [email protected]

I installed these, it then asked me to restart and then somehow all my core win98 ui dlls became corrupt, not even coping them from my disk would help, took a complete format to get it back right!

Gave me an excuse to clean out my system mind!

Dazzy, I'll have a look at the installer. Normally it just installs a few DLL's and OCX's that are VB6 related. So normally it won't harm your system because it only installs the files if the files are there and have a lower version number. I'll upload another installer without the runtime files. Hope that helps you and all the others then.

I reuploaded a new installer without the VB6 runtimes just the plugins. This installer also do NOT reboot the system and install the only the plugins. If you need runtime files which aren't included in this package then just mail me and I'll send it to you !!! Now have fun with the plugins.

However about the advanced color picker, any chance the selection circle could be moved by holding down the mouse button?

Hm, normally it should work like that Dazzy. I've tested it with Win98SE,W2K,WinXP and I can move the circle by holding down the mouse button ??? Will have a look at that.

i have a list as long as my arm hub
what is possible however is a different question ...

if you can possibly do it (which i kinda doubt), could you add a MSVC style popup when you input a function or something with all the variables - but unlike GuyS version i'd like it to actually bold the part of the function that is being defined (ala MSVC) adding a parser to achieve this with user functions as well would be even more helpful, and the type object drop downs...

i know these are lazyboy functions, but negates me having to remember exact spelling - or even spelling right.
god it's be so awesome if DBpro had an option for it to be case sensitive
adding special letters with an underscore like f_ before something automatically sets up the value as a float, just like # does ... but we have it with i_ interger, s_ string, dw_ dword etc... but with it uder definable

i dunno - i just kinda wish i knew enough visual C++ to actually code my own plugin so i could use Visual Developer for coding hehee

the DBPro Editor plugins are somewhat special. It works like this:

If you right click in the editor and choose a plugin then:
1. The editor dumps the whole code window text into a MMF
2. It loads the plugin and keeps on hold until the plugin finishes.
3. After finishing the editor trys to find out the new buffer command and then act like: copy new text to window,reposition cursor and that stuff.

So it's currently NOT possible to write REAL plugins which could keep track of what you were writing. The only plugins I we can create currently are these that have to do with the current window text, cursor position.

If you want things like the MFC window stuff (when pressing . etc) is up to GuyS.

But as far as I remember you are creating a new DB/DBPro Editor so why not including such a function into it ?

I don't know I guess this would be kinda pointless but I was thinking someone should put together a plugin that reads the selected code and creates a flowchart. This would just be cool, I guess it wouldn't serve any practical purpose, but what if there was a program were you make a flowchart, and then it gets turned into DB code. Now that would kinda be cool.

Pointless, stupid, maybe. But cool non-the-less.

yeah... thats one major downside with Pascal programming, isn't quite as simple to add in certain kinds of plugins - like addition windows without hardcoding them.
