Ive searched everywhere and people seem to like 3ds max render to texture if you use it well and get past the bumps. I can get my model into 3ds max fine using this method but the problem is that the textures look like crap (like they are at a bad resolution). I am using 2048x2048 size images as well. I am using a tile for my base texture but 3ds max makes a whole texture file for the entire model. I would like to just render the lighting and apply it manually if I can. Im not sure how to do this. I used vray and grabbed the raw lighting and raw global illumination maps but I dont know how to merge them and how to apply them to the model. How is this done? Also I have broken my model up into a ton of smaller parts and this looked better but it created more textures (which is ok I guess...) but I could see the quality difference in ever peace very well. How do I make the exact same quality for all models rendered regardless of image size?
