I can.... depending on what you want, I might be able to help.
I can't guarantee that I would get enough free time though, but speak up on what you've imagined and I'll see if it matches my writing style (which could be, imo, sort of fantasyish).

Hey Rudolpho!

It's not that I want to "steal" your client or so, but I'm a composer too...

But what I was wondering, I am looking for some software (for composing music - offcourse) that can create some good effects, and has enough flexibility (inputting notes, volume, ...)
I have some already, but it is mainly fixed on the creating of music sheets to print...

Do you have any tips?

Hey Sven.

We'll see what the client says

About the software, I've used ModPlug Tracker for some game-music; it's free and you can "borrow" the sounds from other modules that you can download hundreds of.
However, it doesn't feature very many effects/the alike, and is sort of poor if you compare it to todays official music-making software (obviously, since theese costs quite some money).
For myself, I'm currently using Kontakt 2 with some extra sound and effect packs; it's best for making orchestral music, even though it's of course possible to write rock/etc (alas, you'll have to buy some add-ons for the right guitar sounds).
There aren't a lot of ambience-sounding instruments included either, but you can get hold of quite a few here and there.
Then there is GigaStudio, which is told to be the best out there; I haven't been able to afford it though and seeing as it's obviously "made for a mac-environment", I haven't really paid any big attention to it either.

Anyways; ModPlug is free; Kontakt 2 is not cheap, but it's definitively one of the best PC samplers around.

(As for the note-inputting; I'm using Sibelius in cojunction with Kontakt 2 for that).

@Hogoblin Lord: Anvil is just for making midi-sequences and, as I recall (?), cannot playback them with any different sounds than thoose of the soundcard.
ModplugTracker can generate midi-sequences as well as play them back with different (and of course (if there's to be any point in it ), better) sounds.

Nothing bad about Anvil though, but it just doesn't generate any killer sounding music in my opinion.

I currently have:

- Sibelius 4 in combination with Kontakt Player Silver
- Magix:
- Music Maker
- Notation (which I don't use anymore. --> Sibelius)
- midi studio (Doesn't work anymore)
- Anvil studio (which I don't use anymore. --> Sibelius)

I'll look up for Kontakt. I have money, it's just that I want to spend it wise...

I just remembered, it has to be midi format.

If anybody's played Hexen, or Heretic, you might think of that. It's supposed to be a dark game, unlike lord of the rings or the Elder Scrolls III.

Thanks everybody, now-a-days it's so hard for me to find anybody willing to make music, and I'm just horrible.
