Originally DBS planned to charge a fee, but it was a very unpopular idea, so they decided that whatever you make, you can sell without paying any royalties or other costs at all.

Current Project: TANK MELÉE [Artwork] , DBPro Windows GUI Plugin [Slow but steady ]

It was a good job they didn't implement the royalty system!

Yeah, I agree it's great!

I also dubt that you could sell your game in volume, I think you could sell up to 1000 copies but more will be very hard, commercial producers sell 100,000 copies..

So I think DB is the BEST

i don't see what the big deal about the royalty system was to be honest... i mean it was what £1,000 if your sold more than like 500units

which really isn't a big chunck of change, especially if your game was selling well enough to get 500sales then you should be making enough for it to be worth it... and it wasn't £1,000/500 units, but anything over. not that many people would ever sell that many, and there wasn't any limitations over what you could just give away.

but then again none of the other languages do royalty scheme and it could've seemed greedy (even if it was a reasonable setup) from DBS to actually do it that way.
