Alot has happened since I last posted here!

The quest system is going very good. It has progressed alot. The way I programmed it, I can change 1 value and entirely differentiate the quest. The 2D graphics are looking good too.

My 'Big World' system is working amazingly. The world I made takes very, very long to get across, and maintains a wonderful framerate . The detail is also great for such a large terrain.

I have programmed a water-system for the water in the game. It looks very realistic. It kills the framerate though.

As for multiplayer, its perfect. No flaws. I can upload the client right now and anyone around the world could connect and see each other.

The graphics are poor. I will not improve the graphics until the engine and stuff is done. It is a matrix and a man made of boxes and cylinders.

At the moment I'm working on the chat system. It is going very nicely.


Once I'm completely done with the quest sytem, which might take a while, I'll be moving on to the item system, the weapon system, etc. Then finaly with all that I can work on the batlle system.

If you would like help xeno i would be glad to i am not the best coder but i can beta test and i can get some art done and ideas of monsters for you i hav a fare few in my mind they may not be arabic but if you had a travel system there would be different types and breeds in different areas like if your wrer in siberia a demo0n may be more prepared for the weather as it were any way if you want a hand i would be glad to

Sorry for double post but you said about assassin missions maybe you could get asked by your clan guild to assassinate another guilds leader and that other guild would not know and you had to sneak in but the guilds are all constantly protected like it will be easier like this



leader(delegates duties)
vice leader ( also delegates but more front line man)
senior ( best assassins)
rank1 (guard and hunter)
rank 2 ( guards)
recruit( get taught by the above)


so the rank 1s and 2s would stop other guilds assassinating your leader adn hunters woukld go and kill monsters from encroaching on your territory and other clans also you cna get contratcs against other ai people with either human or ai guards. so you could get a contratc to kill man x( x is ai ) but guards c v(c is ai v is not) are contracted to protect him.

The weapons i thought of were swords various types of saber to short swords,and daggers,
shortbows
spears
throwing knives
metal gloves which go over your hands and have spikes protruding like a knuckle duster but worse
staffs
fire
water
air
earth
death
summoning


thats my ideas gone

Hah, yeah Im working on it.

But Im also freelancing as a web designer, so time is low.

If you check the WIP board you will see the level editor that Im creating for it.

Im also working on the engine too. Its all coming along good.

And trust me, it will go far

I don't see the point in the whole "other dimension", you seem to know quite a bit about these Hassassins so why not just tell it as a straight game. In general I would really like to see more straight games; why do (especially medieval) games have to include magic and assorted crap, why not just tell it like it is?
I've only read the first couple of posts so excuse me if what I'm saying doesn't make sense.
This is an original idea, I'm looking forward to seeing how it shapes up.

Xeno, just a small Q. Wouldn\'t Hassassin in arabic be \'حشّاشين\', because in Egyptian it would be.

Errrm...
You seem to be incorrect - You say the the word 'assassin' is derived from 'hassassin' - this is wrong.
The word 'assassin' is derived from the followers of a man named 'Hassen' - a brutal murderer, considered a sovreign by his people.

I suppose you could use the replace tool to change the words... (if thats any consolation)
