Good news for owners of FPSPack

I saw from various posts that a number of people were getting worried about the future support of FPSPack since the last update was a couple of months ago now (12th November).

There is an update on the site (RastaWorld) saying that the next release should be available within the next 2 weeks as below

--------------------------------------------------------------

It's been awhile, and during my last post until now we had a death in the family, but also my 2nd daughter was born at the end of Nov 2006. I have finally made it back to the PC with some upcoming items:

FPSPack - Yes, the project is still alive. It was simply on hold during the items listed above. I have begun re-writing the code for FPSPack to include major changes to its interface, and how it works with the latest FPSC available. At this time, I have no idea if save games will be supported, but it is being looked into. The KeyGen feature will go away, to make FPSPack more stable. A solution for game makers would be to release a 'demo' then the full version with FPSPack. I hope that the release date will be within 2 weeks. It will be a totally re-written version of FPSPack, which will be free to all registered users. Thanks to everyone in the FPSC community for their contuniued support!

---------------------------------------------------------------

I have found this to be a worthwhile product and am glad to see the continued support. The only issue I have with this is that for some reason when I try and use an mp3 with the splash / menu / unpacking I get an access violation error when loading the final package. Im using version 3.0 build 2 and everything except for this feature works fine

If anyone else has this same issue then would be grateful to know if it's me doing something wrong or a known bug which will hopefully be fixed in the forthcoming release.

Thanks
