How do I save a file as .x in Milkshape 3d?

You must export it using the JT .X Exporter.

You go to file/export/DirectX 8.0

Yep, there are two options.. the JT.x exporter and the DirectX 8.0 export command. Both found under file/export...

If you use DBPro then you have to use the JT exporter.
