Hi!

I've downloaded the segment editor from www.fpscreator.com

I have managed to make, and save a room segment.
But when I want to use them in my games problems occour.
I move my room segment files to the program/fpscreator/files/segments/user folder. When launching the editor trying to use my room segment I get an error message: "illegal mesh at line 9xxxx" and the editor freezes.

I'm using versin 1.04 of the editor.

You need to ensure that the .X model and associated texture you are using are also copied into the relevant meshbank / texturebank folders within the FPSC root directory as well as the segment folder.

Also make sure that the directory paths in the .fps file for your segment are pointing to the right locations (mesh / texture) as below example

meshname0 = meshbank\user\rooms\myroom\mesh.x
texture0 = texturebank\user\rooms\myroom\texture.tga

Watching part 6 of the FPSC segment editor tutorials again should help

You can get Signs IV here.
You can get Magic FPS here.

They are both great for making segments and for other stuff as well.
I recommend them both if you can afford them.

You really don't have to do much at all to get it to work. Don't make the new segments then copy everything over. Instead, put the segment-editor.exe and browser.exe directly into the main FPSC root folder and go from there. Works for me.
