I have just completed part one of a two part video tutorial series for new users to FPSC. It was created using the demo version to give a quick start to the new users wanting to try it fast. In part one it covers running the software, the basic screens, creating a simple level and testing the level.

Part two will cover more in depth working with segments and entities. It will also cover the community resources like searching the forums etc. If anyone has other suggestions, please post them and I will look in to them.

These are not made to replace the docs, they are only for getting new users off and running quickly.

I could not get the file to upload to the forums even thought it is under 50mb, so here is a link to download it.

You've done quite a good job here, very easy to follow to get started. The only gripe I have is the video quality of the 'testing the game' part, it was terrible and could barely see what was going on.

Overall I'd like to see the other tutorials you have planned and try to up the quality of the recording even though it will up the size of the video file.

Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback; I will look for new ways to improve the quality of the game in play section. I will do some testing latter and see if I can revamp it a bit.

How was the quality for the not in game segment to you?

Thanks again,

A bit rough visual wise (video) but you could easily see what was going on, and very easy to follow, even with the mistakes

Well after reviewing the tutorial again after considering the feedback, I decided to turn it in to a 6+ part tutorial. I am posting parts 1-3 now. The video should be much cleaner now. The files are larger in size, but I hope you find them worth the download.

I would like to point out to those of you new to the FPSC creator forums, that you may receive constructive criticism in the forums. Please remember it is constructive. Many members would prefer to help a person learn, instead of doing it for them. This will help you become more comfortable with the system, allowing your creativity to flow.

Here are the new tutorials for parts 1-3. If you are a first time user, you will want to watch these, to help get you started.

A lot better. The video looks a lot cleaner and you can see what's going on. I've saved these on my HDD for future reference and look forward to your other tutorials.
