Hey guys, I've heard a lot about ppl playing roms for 8 and 16-bit systems on a PSX.

I've just bought a PS1 and official Sony Screen to take on holidays and business trips and would love to be able to record a CD-R with these classic ROMS (And yes, funnily enough I do own the originals! ) It would be so cool to play some of my favourite games away from home, but its not practical carrying around loads of cartridges

So my question is, any1 know of emulators that'll work on a psx/1, and where to download them from. Also is there a way to skip the bios check with a cd or will I have to chip it? I'd rather not, but will if I know it'll work

(Before any1 suggests running them on a laptop, my lappy screen looks awful when you are in any res other than 1024x768 )

Try http://www.emuunlim.com/ and their links, Trouble is, there's so many of these sites that it's a case of finding the one that supports your requirements.

No one? Come on people, don't make me resort to buying on off Minehead market for £3, piracy supports terrorism ya know. I know that for a fact cos it tells me at the beginning of all my kids Disney videos

kangy...dont know...but you should be able to find a pc emulator that will display a stretched image at 1024x768, ie, running the emulator at your default screen size.. O_o

Get hold of a second hand Dreamcast mate - they drench the PSX in hot steamy p*** in terms of emulation. You could get one for about £20, get to DCEMULATION.COM, and download DreamSNES, NESterDC, you can even get an awesome Quake conversion for it too, even supports LAN play!. It's a case of 1 CD for the EMU, 1 CD for your roms, I'll let you do the math as to how many Snes or NES games you could fit on a cd .

I have disks full of Snes, Nes, and Spectrum games for the DC, Bomberman on the SNES emu supports the 4 controller ports (whoah is that fun!) - it's really awesome for such an underated and cheap console.

Jerico - Thanks! But stretched windows mode 1024x768 is ugly on most emulators, and the exclusive 1024x768 looks bad on my lappy too!

Van-B - Quality! Thanks I still have a DC, so I'll certainly look into that straight away

i usually set it to scale...some of em.. i gotta scale 2x, some of them scale automatically to fit the screeny size.. sadly one can't easily make their own emulator to fit their own needs^_^
